DESCRIPTION:1945 In 1945 the Allies were driving eastward into the Rhineland\, west of the Rhine River\, and east of the Maas River\, toward Germany’s centre. Operation Veritable started on February 8th\, 1945 with the 1st Canadian Army (13 National Divisions\, 470\,000 men\, 1\,200 guns\, 3\,400 tanks) under the command of General Harry Crerar.
