The Battle of Arras lasted from April 9 – 12, 1917. The Battle at Vimy Ridge was the northern portion of that conflict.
The conditions were horrendous. There were 10,602 Canadian casualties of which 3,598 Canadians were killed there in April. Numbers don’t tell the story of war. Pictures help us appreciate what these veterans went through.
