Fairmount Cemetery is operated by St. James Lutheran Church. It was established on November 23, 1891. It is located on South Snider’s Road, lot 15. Its name is appropriate as it is located on a hill with a fine view of the surrounding landscape, and it is thus a fair mountain or “Fair-Mount”.
Its most famous occupant is pioneer businessman, James Livingston who was in the flax business and built Castle Kilbride in Baden.
There are two veterans that have been identified in Fairmount so far; William Malloch and George Schmidt.
